Something to Say – A Tribute to Dave Speakman

A day of live music at the Kings Lock Inn, Middlewich, supporting Cheshire Mind and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Friends, fellow musicians and members of the local community are coming together this September for Something To Say, a special day of live music celebrating the life and legacy of Cheshire musician, sound engineer and guitar teacher Dave Speakman.

Taking place at The Kings Lock in Middlewich on Saturday 12 September, the event will bring together up to 20 bands and artists across a main stage and acoustic stage.

Dave was a much-loved figure in the local music community, with a career spanning performing, session work, recording and teaching. He also spent more than two decades inspiring young musicians in schools across Cheshire and supporting the local music scene through his work as a teacher, musician and sound engineer.

The festival has been organised by Dave’s friend Darren Roberts and Kings Lock landlord Martin Mosely, with many of the performers having worked with Dave, recorded at his studio or been taught by him over the years.

The event will be a chance for friends, musicians, former pupils and the wider community to come together through the thing Dave loved most — music.

We’re particularly grateful that all proceeds from Something To Say will be donated to Cheshire Mind and Macmillan Cancer Support.

The funds raised will help Cheshire Mind continue providing vital mental health support to people across Cheshire.
