Lunar Restaurant Marks World Mental Health Day with Donation to North Staffs Mind

Staffordshire, UK – This World Mental Health Day (10th October), Lunar Restaurant is showing its support for the community by donating a meal for two in aid of North Staffs Mind, a local mental health charity that has been serving the area for nearly 50 years.

The donation is part of Lunar’s commitment to giving back to Staffordshire and highlighting the importance of mental wellbeing in today’s world.

A Local Business with Community at its Heart

Known for its creative dining experiences and focus on local ingredients, Lunar has always been about more than just food. By supporting North Staffs Mind, the team wants to spotlight mental health – an issue that touches 1 in 4 people every year.

“Lunar has always been a community-first space, from the events we host to the local artwork that adorns our walls. Supporting North Staffs Mind this World Mental Health Day is another way for us to give back to the people who make Staffordshire special.” – Craig Wilkinson

Mental Health in Staffordshire

Local data highlights why support like this matters:

Around 12% of adults in Staffordshire are living with a common mental health condition.

Among children aged 5–16, nearly 1 in 10 has a diagnosed mental health disorder.

GP-recorded depression in several Staffordshire districts is above the national average.

These figures show the scale of the challenge—and why community-driven support makes a difference.

North Staffs Mind’s Legacy

While Lunar is leading the way this World Mental Health Day, North Staffs Mind continues its near five-decade mission to support people across the region through free counselling, support groups, outreach programmes and training. The charity’s role is vital in helping local people manage life’s challenges, from financial stress to loneliness, and ensuring they get the support and respect they deserve.

A Call to Action

By donating a meal for two, Lunar is encouraging others—businesses and individuals alike—to get involved. Acts of generosity, whether large or small, can have a ripple effect in building stronger, more supportive communities.
