North Staffs Mind is governed by a Board of Directors who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to govern our work. Our Board members give their time freely and through our regular board meetings, finance committee, risk subcommittee and short life working groups they are responsible for helping us to create ambitious strategic plans that meet the changing needs of local people and to ensure that that we meet our stated aims and objectives.
Kate Boundy
Chief Executive
I joined NS Mind in 2019 initially in the role of Deputy Chief Executive. Having previously worked in the public and private sector I saw the job advertised mid-way through studying an MBA and realised I would love a more purpose-led role where I could (hopefully) make a positive difference to those around me. I became Chief Executive in 2021 and have loved every minute since! I am proud to be part of the Mind Federation and am currently enjoying active participation in the Mind Leadership and Network Sustainability Groups.
Jane Considine
Finance Manager
I joined NS Mind in 2013, where I originally worked part time having 2 young children. Since then there have been many changes and the organisation has grown significantly. As a result, I now work full time and enjoy every minute. I had worked for the previous 18 years in both professional practice and industry where I gained a wide range of experience but when working in the field of accountancy there is not a lot of opportunity to work somewhere you feel can make such a difference to the local community and people’s lives and I am grateful to have the opportunity to work for such a wonderful charity.
Laura Colclough
HR Manager
I started my career working with young people in care, which, along with my family’s own lived experience, gave me an insight into the mental health sector and so I jumped at the chance to work at North Staffs Mind back in 2013! During my time here I have retrained in HR management and now sit on the leadership team, which is a privilege and a job I thoroughly enjoy. I am passionate about workplace wellbeing and believe that the happiness of our brilliant staff and volunteers is integral to our success as an organisation, and ultimately, feeds into the quality of the incredible services we offer to our clients.
Deb Smith
Services Manager
I have been with North Staffs Mind for 17 years in one guise or another. I began my journey as a Placement Counsellor whilst completing my degree working with adult clients. Since then, I have gained my knowledge and experience working across a wide range of Adult services, CYP services, and Parenting Services as both a counsellor and in Management.
In 2021 I took on the role of Services Manager, and as part of the leadership team, I oversee the majority of our counselling services and projects, supporting an amazing team of managers. Encouraging autonomy and nurturing new ideas and projects, seeing people grow and flourish, are some of the best aspects of my job.
Sourcing and creating new opportunities to ensure service user needs are met and that communities are supported, is one of the more challenging aspects to my role, but one of the most important and rewarding that keeps my passion fuelled and embraces the ethos of North Staffs Mind.
