Below are some answers to questions about the Mindful Miles Challenge. We hope this is all the information you need, but if there's anything else you want to ask, please feel free to email fundraising@nsmind.org.uk.

What is the Mindful Miles Challenge?
The Mindful Miles Challenge is a 30-day walking and fundraising challenge. It's up to you how far you want to walk, and your 30 days don't have to be one after another - take your time, plan in rest days and have fun.

Can I do a different type of exercise instead of walking?
Absolutely! If walking isn't your thing, feel free to run, cycle or anything else that's distance-related.

What day does it start on?
The Mindful Miles Challenge is 'open' from 1st July – 31st August, and you can set your 30-day challenge at any time between these dates. To finish by 31st August, you'd need to start by the 2nd August.

Your 30 days don't have to be one after another - take your time and have fun. Exercise is personal, so pace it out in a way that works.

Can I take rest days?
Yes! Your 30 days don't have to be one after another. In fact, taking rest days can help to improve both physical and mental health and allow time for the body and mind to recover. Everyone is different, but it's important that we mix up our routines and have at least one rest day a week.

Rest days can come in the form of doing no physical activity, or through taking active rest. Active rest can be described as taking part in light or easy activity, where you're still moving but not at the intensity level that you normally move, or by doing something different to your usual routine.

What if my challenge will finish after the 31st August?
The Mindful Miles Challenge officially closes on the 31st August, but if you won't have finished your 30 days by then, don't worry! Keep going until your 30 days is up, but you do need to have raised your first £25 by the 31st August if you'd like your free pin badge.

Where is my pin badge?
If you have raised £25, congratulations!

If you're raising money via JustGiving: Once you have raised your first £25 we will email you to ask if you would like to be sent a free North Staffs Mind pin badge. Please reply to this email to let us know where to send it.

If you're raising money offline using one of our sponsorship forms: Once you have raised your first £25, send us a picture of your form via email to fundraising@nsmind.org.uk. We will then email you to ask where you would like you free North Staffs Mind pin badge to be sent to.

If it has been more than two weeks since you reached £25 and you still haven't received your pin badge, then please email fundraising@nsmind.org.uk.

How old do I need to be to take part in the Mindful Miles Challenge?
You can take part in the Mindful Miles Challenge at any age. However, if you are under 18 you must have a parent or care giver's permission to take part and they'll need to set up a JustGiving page on your behalf. Just email fundraising@nsmind.org.uk to let us know.

If you want to do the challenge as a family with children, you can share one JustGiving page - further details are below under 'Teams'.

Do I need to register?
There is no registration process to sign up for the Mindful Miles Challenge. Just choose your challenge, raise money via JustGiving or using one of our sponsorship forms, and help us fight for mental health across North Staffordshire. Once you hit your first £25 we'll send you a North Staffs Mind pin badge!

Can I take part as a team?
Absolutely! Whether you want to get out with the family over the summer holidays, or encourage some friendly competition amongst your colleagues or friends – the Mindful Miles Challenge is even more fun when you've got teammates to keep you motivated.

How do I fundraise as a team on JustGiving?
To set up an official team, each person will need set up their own JustGiving page. Once that's done, nominate a team leader to create the team page on JustGiving, using this guide. Then you can link everyone's individual fundraising page to the team page, by following this guide. If you need any help, please get in touch with us.

Setting up your team like this means we receive everyone's details to fulfil individual pin badge orders, when each person raises £25.

Alternatively, you may decide to share one individual page between team members (for example, if you're a family team with children). To do this, just set up a fundraising page as normal. Please note that you will need to contact us on fundraising@nsmind.org.uk to organise additional pin badges once you've raised £25 per person.

How do I get my badge if I'm taking part in a team?
If all of your team have individual pages linked to an official team page, we will automatically receive everyone's details to fulfil pin badge orders when each person raises £25.

However, please note that if you are sharing your individual page with another person or team member, you will need to contact us on fundraising@nsmind.org.uk once you have reached £25 per person on your shared page to arrange for additional pin badges to be sent to your team members.

Can I fundraise offline?
We recommend using JustGiving to fundraise for the Mindful Miles Challenge. It's secure and means you don't have to handle any cash or worry about paying in donations, as everything comes directly to us. Not only that but you'll be able to add your fundraising to our Mindful Miles Challenge team total!

If you are given donations in cash we recommend paying this onto your page yourself to keep everything in one place. This can be added as an 'offline donation'.

However, if you would prefer to only raise money offline, please download and print one of our sponsorship forms.

I am having problems setting up my JustGiving page
Sorry to hear that - please contact the JustGiving helpdesk here who will be able to advise you on any issues with your page.

Is there a minimum fundraising target?
All we ask is that you raise as much as you can. As a thank you we'll send a pin badge your way when you raise your first £25.
