Housing Support Worker

16 hours per week maternity cover until March 2017

£18,385 – £20,501 (Actual £7,954 – £8,865 pro rata)

North Staffs Mind is an independent charity, committed to providing the highest possible quality and diversity of services for people experiencing mental health difficulties. We are currently looking to appoint one worker to join our Housing Team, providing support both to tenants of our small group homes and self-contained units and floating support to service users who live independently of North Staffs Mind.

We are looking for an energetic and flexible person with good listening skills and an ability to form supportive relationships with tenants and external service users. Previous experience of working with people with mental health needs is essential as is an ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a small team. Experience of working within a supported housing environment would be desirable.

MACCAS Project Lead

15 hours per week

£26,418 – £28,165 (Actual £10,710 – £11,418 pro rata)

The Maccas Project was born in memory of Thomas McCauley. The project is specifically aimed at supporting young men’s emotional well-being and mental health in the Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffs area. We are looking to recruit someone with passion and drive, who can demonstrate a good understanding of the challenges young men face in relation to their emotional and mental well-being. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the project as well as demonstrating passion and vision for the growth and continued development of the project.

MACCAS Project Worker

10 hours per week

£21,032 (Actual £5,684 pro rata)

We are looking to recruit a young adult with lived experience of mental distress to work across Stoke-on-Trent/North Staffs for 10 hours per week promoting the MACCAS Project, which supports the emotional and mental health of young males aged 14-25. The successful applicant will be confident in speaking to young males about their lived experience, willing to undertake training to co-facilitate mental health and suicide awareness workshops and provide information stands in a variety of settings. The ideal candidate will be flexible, creative, have good time-management skills and be competent with basic admin duties and computing software. The successful candidate will need to be DBS checked.
